We really went all out on the last day,we dressed up so differently that we wouldn’t do in Malaysia. But it was fun!Stranger land is always more of a comfort zone for me.I can even go out with a naked face without worrying that i’ll bump into people i know.HAHAR!

Did a little prayer near Platinum Plaza where the four faced Buddha is located at.It was Buddha’s birthday! And we were brought to somewhere later on to a temple to witness the ceremony.According to the driver,we are both very lucky because the temple only allows public to visit once a month.

Street food in Bangkok is always the best!I would prefer to visit local markets for lunch/dinner then having them in shopping malls. What’s the point of you visiting Thailand but you do not appreciate the chance of trying authentic street food!I’d always tell my friends to be adventurous when it comes to food!Explore your taste buds!We only live once! And what i love about street food is they’re extremely cheap and they always taste good.

On the second night of our stay, doll and i went street food hunting!!We wanted buy some and try as we pass by those tempting food stalls on the first night but we already had dinner,So we made a deal that we will be back on the second night.WITH AN EMPTY STOMACH FOR SURE.

Thai beef and pork skewers.

Thai ‘zhap fan’(Economic rice) the ghetto style!

None of the dishes were non-spicy.I had swollen crack lips the next morning after dinner.

I will have to give the best street food title to the grilled fish! The Tilapia is rubbed all over with sea salt and it is stuffed with pandan leaves. The skin are not meant to be eaten and i know it looks abit daunting on the outward appearance, but the flesh is surprisingly sweet! Also the aroma of the pandan leave gives such flavorsome taste to the fish. There are not more than three ingredients and it already taste so good.Simplicity is always the best! And its only 50Baht!!! (RM5)

It also comes with a fiery citrusy homemade chili sauce which is extremely orgasmic. It was so spicy that i spent most of my time wiping off my tears and blow my nose than to enjoy my dinner.

IMG_0143

This was only 1/4 of our journey.Strictly for our own only.It was pretty insane that the customs had to stop us and ask us to pay for tax fee.But we got away easily, nothing is impossible.Teeeheee.

IMG_0149

Headed out for early dinner, had crabs and seafood!

Okay, maybe early dinner wasn’t a very good idea.Ordered room service for supper, and finally we drank for our first time after 2 days in Bangkok!Although it was in our room but its good enough. It wasn’t really a vacation trip so we didn’t get to go out to chill at night, also,we’ve been shopping and meeting manufacturers since 9am till late,by the time we got back to our room and finished our dinner its already 11pm..and yeah if you were me,you wouldn’t want to step out of the room anymore. You will just wanna lay on bed and sleep!

More food posts coming right up!Make sure you don’t view my blog with an empty stomach next time!

Till then!xx

In the streets of Bangkok : The hidden gem.

Saturday, July 9th, 2011

Unless you’re out for #Bersih 2.0,i believe most of you are staying in to avoid the havoc and jam that is happening right now at the city center.Apparently Malaysia isn’t the only country who runs rally protests,it occurred in Bangkok last week as well! There were the red and yellow shirt rally troops all over Bangkok city which causes a massive jam on the way from the airport to the city center.

Come to think of it,i’m glad that we actually missed our morning flight to Bamgkok and we took the afternoon flight instead.Because it would be a lot worse and i wouldn’t even want to think of the consequences that we have to bare with. Its just me and Silly Dolly Molly in this whole trip after all.Two tiny petite girls in the middle of a foreign country, pretty adventurous though.HAHAHA.We even witness a public assassination on the first night itself in the middle of the night market! That Indian dude has a taser and a gun!I swore i saw that dude tasing the other guy and suddenly there were bunch of angry mobs that appeared in the middle of no where, then started fighting and the rest was history cause i was busy saving my my own ass.Didn’t have the guts to stick around to watch free Bollywood drama!

We were practically running for our lifes!I really don’t wanna get shot and just die in the middle of Bangkok for no reason!

Freshen up and head out for dinner!

If you’re wondering why am i wearing a pair of  spa slippers from the hotel its because i broke mine in the plane. And i didn’t bring any extra pair!So i have no choice but to borrow a pair of slippers from the hotel before i get a new pair.HAHAHAHA.Kena cock stare while i was walking in the mall.

Elephant sanctuary.

I have a thing for elephants.

Okay,it sounds so wrong.I mean,i have a special affection for elephants.I find them very cute although most of the people wouldn’t agree with me due to the judgments of their sizes. But i often see them as the gentle giants.Had my very first elephant ride in Chiangmai during my visit in Thailand,it wasn’t a very good experience riding on them.I just feel so sorry for them!

It wasn’t very nice to see them on chains, they should be set free!!

IMG_7941

IMG_7944

We had a jungle trek ride that lasted for an hour.Stopped by the Karen village and Lahu village to visit the tribe people as well.IMG_7948

Happy holidays!

Chiangmai 2010.

Sunday, January 16th, 2011

The first day in Chiangmai.Checked into an awesome boutique hotel and went for a stroll around town.I gradually fell in love with Chiangmai, with the fairly chilly weather everyday, the food is great of course, among all the countries i’ve been through in Asia,i still love Thai food the best. Also,Thai people are very humble,down-to-earth,that’s also one of the reason why i love Thailand so much. Not forgetting to mention about the price of everything in Thailand is just cheap!!

I really don’t mind spending the rest of my life in Chiangmai though!
