Beijing,Hu Tong.

Monday, April 30th, 2012

Words can’t describe how knackered am i right now,got up at 6am this morning for my 8 hour class and not forget to mention that the bazaar was yesterday and it lasted for 12hours(plus i woke up at 7am yesterday) so basically i am extremely tired, sleepy but instead of getting some rest right now i think i ought to finish this one last post about Beijing first!

Oh and,the bazaar was a wrap!Well done everyone!!!!It was crazy!!For a while i thought that i couldn’t have make it work, but it did!!!!Kinda excited about it if i were to rewind it back right now, maybe i was too tired yesterday,i had no feelings at all when everyone was hugging congratulating me.I was just, really chilled.Like as if it wasn’t me who organized the whole thing. But anyway,THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR MAKING IT TO AHM’S ALBUM LAUNCH AND ALSO FOR THE BAZAAR!More updates about that real soon!

So i spent my last day in Beijing visiting Hu Tong!Somewhere i’d always wanted to go,just love wandering and explore the narrow alleys and we also visited the traditional courtyard residents known as the Si He Yuan.

Bits&pieces of Lao Beijing.

Saturday, April 14th, 2012

Was away for a while and went to Beijing during last fall, took a short seminar course by Robert Tisserand from The States(the father of essential oil) who is apparently an expert in aromatherapy industry.Learnt the ways of harnessing the healing power of essential oils, the subject was rather deep.It took me a while to understand.

It was a pretty long stay in Beijing, doll even came to visit me with her boyfriend.

Here’s some bits&pieces during my stay in Beijing.

First day of class with the press.

A short trip to Darren’s home.

IMG_0469

His adorable Tibetan Mastiff.I heard the most expensive ones can cost up to 1million pounds. That’s pretty insane.

IMG_0472

The sweetest persimmon i’ve ever tasted!Freshly plucked from Darren’s garden! The flesh was so soft because it was fully ripe you can just dig it with a spoon and shove it into your mouth.Nil chewing effort needed.

The place where i spent my nights in. Beijing’s weather can be really nasty sometimes, and at times like this the best place to be is in the hot tub.

Melbourne style! : Coffee,eggs benedict&everything nice.

Wednesday, August 17th, 2011

Oh Melbourne!

Okay.I’m actually now back in KL.My annoying dogs and sister just gave me a reality check when i’m happily reminiscing my days spent in Melbourne.I want Melbourne i want Melbourne! *stomps feet & throws tantrums*

I already started to miss Melbourne when i was on my flight back to KL.No,actually,it was when am on my way to the airport. Also,my flight was on a freaking Friday night! After having my last dinner, walking back to the apartment,i see everyone hitting the streets dressing up in their best, getting ready to party! Can’t believe my last Friday night in Melbourne had to end like this.I should have just extend my stay and party my ass off and let tomorrow worry by itself.

i miss my fellow friends, the good company, long walks, chilly weather, waffles,Mart 130,kickass coffee and BIG BREAKFAST!!!!Its just so difficult to get good English breakfast here in KL,unless you want to take a 30mins drive out to the city center and get it.Which explains why am i still in my jammies, having instant noodles for breakfast.

The first cafe we’ve been to was Issus cafe at Centre place, wanna thank Jin for bringing us around places to visit, and most importantly! She knows best. She knows where to get good coffee, good food and everything! She has been an amazing friend and a tour guide.

Also not forgetting the others!Million thanks to AJ for being such a wonderful host!Marco for the ride and dim sum!!The generous Shalissa for the great company (pancakes, music covers – she has amazing voice, brutal jokes,Vogue&many many moreee),Mr bass for movie and karaoke sessions! And new friends that i’ve met who brought us out for dinner!Makes me feel so loved even though i’m far away from home. You guys are awesome.Loads of L-O-V-E !!

In the streets of Bangkok : We runnin local.

Monday, July 11th, 2011

Street food in Bangkok is always the best!I would prefer to visit local markets for lunch/dinner then having them in shopping malls. What’s the point of you visiting Thailand but you do not appreciate the chance of trying authentic street food!I’d always tell my friends to be adventurous when it comes to food!Explore your taste buds!We only live once! And what i love about street food is they’re extremely cheap and they always taste good.

On the second night of our stay, doll and i went street food hunting!!We wanted buy some and try as we pass by those tempting food stalls on the first night but we already had dinner,So we made a deal that we will be back on the second night.WITH AN EMPTY STOMACH FOR SURE.

Thai beef and pork skewers.

IMG_0119

Thai ‘zhap fan’(Economic rice) the ghetto style!

None of the dishes were non-spicy.I had swollen crack lips the next morning after dinner.

Beef jerky strips that comes in a chain.

IMG_0129

I will have to give the best street food title to the grilled fish! The Tilapia is rubbed all over with sea salt and it is stuffed with pandan leaves. The skin are not meant to be eaten and i know it looks abit daunting on the outward appearance, but the flesh is surprisingly sweet! Also the aroma of the pandan leave gives such flavorsome taste to the fish. There are not more than three ingredients and it already taste so good.Simplicity is always the best! And its only 50Baht!!! (RM5)

It also comes with a fiery citrusy homemade chili sauce which is extremely orgasmic. It was so spicy that i spent most of my time wiping off my tears and blow my nose than to enjoy my dinner.

Dinner is served!

MORE AND MORE SHOPPING SPREEE!

IMG_0146

IMG_0143

This was only 1/4 of our journey.Strictly for our own only.It was pretty insane that the customs had to stop us and ask us to pay for tax fee.But we got away easily, nothing is impossible.Teeeheee.

IMG_0149

Headed out for early dinner, had crabs and seafood!

IMG_0150

Heart shaped rice,cute max.

IMG_0162

We had grilled crab!A little overpriced though..

Okay, maybe early dinner wasn’t a very good idea.Ordered room service for supper, and finally we drank for our first time after 2 days in Bangkok!Although it was in our room but its good enough. It wasn’t really a vacation trip so we didn’t get to go out to chill at night, also,we’ve been shopping and meeting manufacturers since 9am till late,by the time we got back to our room and finished our dinner its already 11pm..and yeah if you were me,you wouldn’t want to step out of the room anymore. You will just wanna lay on bed and sleep!

IMG_0171

More food posts coming right up!Make sure you don’t view my blog with an empty stomach next time!

Till then!xx

In the streets of Bangkok : The hidden gem.

Saturday, July 9th, 2011

Unless you’re out for #Bersih 2.0,i believe most of you are staying in to avoid the havoc and jam that is happening right now at the city center.Apparently Malaysia isn’t the only country who runs rally protests,it occurred in Bangkok last week as well! There were the red and yellow shirt rally troops all over Bangkok city which causes a massive jam on the way from the airport to the city center.

Come to think of it,i’m glad that we actually missed our morning flight to Bamgkok and we took the afternoon flight instead.Because it would be a lot worse and i wouldn’t even want to think of the consequences that we have to bare with. Its just me and Silly Dolly Molly in this whole trip after all.Two tiny petite girls in the middle of a foreign country, pretty adventurous though.HAHAHA.We even witness a public assassination on the first night itself in the middle of the night market! That Indian dude has a taser and a gun!I swore i saw that dude tasing the other guy and suddenly there were bunch of angry mobs that appeared in the middle of no where, then started fighting and the rest was history cause i was busy saving my my own ass.Didn’t have the guts to stick around to watch free Bollywood drama!

We were practically running for our lifes!I really don’t wanna get shot and just die in the middle of Bangkok for no reason!

IMG_0017

Freshen up and head out for dinner!

DSC01213

If you’re wondering why am i wearing a pair of  spa slippers from the hotel its because i broke mine in the plane. And i didn’t bring any extra pair!So i have no choice but to borrow a pair of slippers from the hotel before i get a new pair.HAHAHAHA.Kena cock stare while i was walking in the mall.
