Welcome to China!Part 1.

Beijing tour,Day one.

WARNING:

60 freaking pictures ahead, and its only day one.

I wasn’t that enthusiastic bout the trip at first because it is China, doh…

It was a short trip for 5 days and it isn’t that bad afterall, really! We spent minimum 10 hours walking 5 days in a row, cause we took a subway or a public bus trawling every single place to visit;from north to south, east to west instead of renting a cab, having the driver to bring us around. We wanted to feel what’s like to be a local there,it was really crazy! But fun though!

Woke up around 5am in the morning and headed to KLIA.Took us hours to check in,you know..Malaysian standard, everyone is working so slow.

My bookworm family members,including moi.

CIMG7677

Don’t feel like reading when i’m not settled down,so camwhored.

CIMG7685

The things that you could only do in the plane to kill boredom,is eat eat & eat.

CIMG7693

Or maybe some crossword puzzles, movies and music.

CIMG7692

After 6hours of flight,we’re in China!!!The weather was rather chilly than i expected.

CIMG7714

Checked out, collected our luggage and headed to the airport express.

CIMG7718

The train station looks so glamorous!!I’m in love with their ceilings.

CIMG7721

See what i mean?

 CIMG7730

My piggy sissy.

CIMG7726

Many people say we don’t look alike, but trust me..i look exactly like her when i was younger.Looks change as you grow older, its gonna be her turn sometime…

CIMG7731

CIMG7734

Took the airport express train to Dong Zhi Men(东直门站) an interchange station of the Beijing Subway.

CIMG7741

On our way to Dong Zhi Men station,a sea of flowers. So pretty!

CIMG7743

CIMG7744

So pretty so pretty!

CIMG7746

Their ticket machine looks so high-tech,got map somemore.Unlike the one at our KTM station..

We bought a ticket for RMB2(1 Malaysian Ringgit) took a line 2 to the following station,Yong He Gong lama temple(雍和宫) and transfered a line 5 to Deng Shi Kou(灯市口) where our hotel is just around the corner of the subway station.

So convinient eh?!

CIMG7749

We’re almost there! It isn’t very easy to walk when you have a 15KG luggage with you..

CIMG7754

CIMG7756

Walking along Wang Fu Jing( 王府井)street, searching for our hotel.

CIMG7752

It was freezing out there!

CIMG7757

Strong wind blows and my hair was all sticking into my mouth..

CIMG7758

CIMG7759

Busy streets and people..

CIMG7764

Angel looks like a poor homeless little child..

CIMG7765

10 mintues walk and we finally arrived our destination!

CIMG7767

Taiwan hotel in Beijing.

CIMG7769

My aunt.I’d always call her Yi Poh(cantonese). It means granny’s sister.

CIMG7771

Finally got to sit down for a minute, better than none. After checking into our rooms, rested for 10minutes and headed down to the streets for some yummilicious dinner. That’s what i thought..

CIMG7777

Our hotel is located nearby in Wang Fu Jing(王府井) street, down town. And its one of China’s most famous shopping street, snack street. You could find all the famous Chinese Beijing cuisine there.

CIMG7778

CIMG7780

Freezing camwhores.

CIMG7781

CIMG7787

CIMG7782

We had Beijing duck for dinner! The restaurant we went, Quanjude(全聚德),was the most famous Beijing restaurant in Beijing. It has almost 145years of history.

CIMG7847

CIMG7796

The restaurant has 3 floors and it is all fully seated,so we had to wait.

CIMG7799

CIMG7804

CIMG7805

CIMG7807

Had China beer,Yan Jing which tastes like paper.

CIMG7819

The sweet soya paste and some spring onions to go with the duck.

CIMG7832

Mum ordered some other parts of the duck,it was umm…..

oooookay.

CIMG7833

CIMG7834

CIMG7835

Suprisingly the heart was tasty!

CIMG7836

They even have a chef to slice the duck meat for you from the whole roasted duck and they’ll make soup with the bones.

CIMG7837

CIMG7839

The crispy skin,but too oily.

CIMG7841

Put some sauce..

CIMG7842

Some duck meat and spring onion, wrap it and start eating!Overall the dinner was average, the food was too oily, which makes me a little unwell after eating it.

And about the price, insanely expensive.RNB800 for a duck and other duck parts?!I rather have chicken rice in Malaysia which tastes way lot delicious.

CIMG7843

Strolling around the streets when we were on our way back to the hotel, bumped into this candy store along the street.

CIMG7850

They sell all kinds of candies, nuts, dried fruits, prunes, chocolate and some local specialities.

CIMG7856

Sissy was busy choosing her treasures.

CIMG7854

CIMG7853

CIMG7857

Stopped by a mini market and bought some mineral water, expensive.

CIMG7864

Milk yogurt drink,nicee!

CIMG7866

Back at the hotel, and i’m knackered.

CIMG7876

Second day was whole lot of fun and i tried on some exotic snacks which mostly people thinks is disgusting.

Stay tune for the next post if you wanna know what isit!
